ANPS Leaders Explore Education and Innovation in Hangzhou

The 20th ANPS International Leadership Conference brought together 101 school leaders from 45 Indonesian schools for four days of learning, dialogue, and international exchange in Hangzhou, China.

The programme took delegates into four schools: Ding Wen Academy, Hangzhou Wenhai Middle School, Hangzhou Qicheng School, and Wycombe Abbey School Hangzhou. Through campus visits and discussions with host educators, participants explored approaches to leadership, curriculum, student development, and school culture, considering how these practices could inform improvements in their own schools.

At Ding Wen Academy, the opening keynote, “Every Child, Someone’s Child: The Spirit of Parenting in School Leadership,” invited delegates to reflect on the care and responsibility behind every leadership decision. Across the school visits, discussions connected innovation with broader educational priorities, including character, wellbeing, and international perspectives.

Delegates also attended Worlddidac Asia 2026, exploring educational technologies, teaching resources, and learning solutions while connecting with education organisations and potential partners. The exhibition prompted a practical question for school leaders: how can new tools meaningfully improve teaching and learning?

An education forum on cultivating future-ready global talent extended these conversations to university pathways, international study opportunities, and the skills students need to navigate an interconnected world.

Equally valuable was the exchange within the ANPS community. During visits, meals, and informal conversations, leaders shared challenges, compared experiences, and strengthened relationships with colleagues from across Indonesia.

The conference offered fresh perspectives and practical ideas to bring home, alongside connections that can support continued professional learning and collaboration. Its lasting value will lie in how delegates adapt these insights to their own school communities.

ANPS thanks all participating leaders, host schools, speakers, education partners, sponsors, and organisers for making this international learning journey possible.
